Power tools 'may include useful recyclable metals'

Power tools 'may include useful recyclable metals' The owners of certain power tools and other electronic items might find that their gadgets are recyclable, it has been suggested.

Writing in an article for the Daily Mirror, Monica Cafferky has noted some of the potentially useful metals that items like power tools may possess within them.

She stated: 'Products such as mobile phones, games consoles, kettles and garden power tools can contain valuable materials such as iron, copper and even gold.'

Discussing the UK's landfill figures, Ms Cafferky also used her article to point out that on an annual basis, Wembley stadium could be filled as many as six times over with the amount of electronic waste that this country gets rid of.

Meanwhile, when it comes to electrical goods, Wrap's director of market development Marcus Gover suggested last month that shoppers should be offered more encouragement to think about the green features of different products.
