Power tools 'could play a role in people's fire safety plans'
People in one region are being encouraged to improve their fire safety by only using power tools at certain times when the weather is less extreme. The North County Times reported that officials have issued a range of fire-related advice to those based in the local area, in a bid to prevent fires during warm spells of weather.
According to the news provider, one such piece of guidance is: 'Avoid using power tools during the hottest portion of the day; they can emit sparks and start fires.'
Meanwhile, officials are said to be encouraging residents to get in touch with the emergency services if they do witness signs such as smoke which might suggest a fire risk.
In other power tools news, it was recently highlighted by Monica Cafferky in the Daily Mirror that power tools could contain potentially useful materials within them, with copper one such element.
