Fire products and spill kits recommended

Fire products and spill kits recommended Several large warehouse fires broke out in the UK over the Christmas period, highlighting the importance of companies having fire products and spill kits on hand.

In Lancashire, Enterprise Park was ravaged by a huge fire that lasted several days and in Warwickshire, a sofa warehouse was engulfed in another major blaze.

Some 150 firefighters attempted to tackle the Lancashire fire and the Lancashire Evening Post reports that, eventually, demolition crews had to be brought in to allow the crews better access to the blaze.

The fire at the Jubilee Industrial Estate in Warwickshire, which gutted three industrial units on the site, was fought by a 50-strong team.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 sets out the law on fire safety.

Under section 13, the order states that, where necessary, premises must be equipped with fire-fighting equipment and with fire detectors and alarms.

This is the duty of designated responsible person.
